Bugs / Re: MultiWorld doesn't load worlds properly

Is anyone able to reproduce this issue? I can try to get a video of it later today.

Bugs / MultiWorld doesn't load worlds properly
« Last post by EdibleTortilla on April 20, 2018, 08:05:05 PM »
When trying to load any world through multiworld (either with region files uploaded or generated by the plugin), most blocks remain invisible. If I break a block, the ones around it temporarily appear. If I place a block, all the blocks in the 16x16x16 chunk turn into that block.

Here's an example of the invisibility piece: https://prnt.sc/j82rea

I've tried the following: F3 + A, restarting the game, OptiFine/Vanilla/Forge, and restarting the server. Nothing worked.

There's no API to set the online mode for a single connection. However if you use a BungeeCord plugin to do that you don't need to do it on Rainbow.

Requests / [Request] SkinRestorer
« Last post by EdibleTortilla on April 19, 2018, 06:40:50 PM »
Plugin category: Admin/Server Tools

Suggested name: SkinRestorer

What I want: A plugin that can be used to give players skins on cracked/offline-mode servers.

https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/skinsrestorer.2124/

Ideas for commands: Maybe a command to dynamically change skins, but thatís not necessary. If it was to be added, maybe:

/skin <skin to set> [target]

Ideas for permissions: sr.command - Ability to use the command

When I'd like it by: Iím new to the community, so I canít make any demands, but as soon as possible!

Thanks! I have one final question for nowóis there a way to bypass online mode for a certain IP address or hostname used to connect (like mc2.myserver.com)? I know itís available on Bungeecord, but not Bukkit.

I noticed that in the handling of Bungeecord connections in MixinNetHandlerLoginServer.java, online mode can be dynamically set. However, there doesnít appear to be a way to check the IP address of the connection in that method.

Here is a Bungeecord-sided solution, for reference: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/sessionskip.212/

EDIT: I came up with my own (messy) solution, though it depends on a plugin for security.

There's a MultiWorld plugin, so you can have multiple worlds: http://www.project-rainbow.org/site/index.php?topic=1424.0

I strongly recommend against doing some hacky stuff such as described in the bukkit forums thread you linked.

Since your using BungeeCord anyway best way to go is probably to spin up a server with the map you want whenever you start a new round of your game.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Also, is there a way to do this in Rainbow (either through the API or hooking into Rainbow/Minecraft itself)? It would make minigame servers more viable.

Apparently you're right, there's no API for plugin messages. But since it's not really a big deal I just made one: https://github.com/CodeCrafter47/Rainbow/commit/52a489560549ac7a7d3a2a3fda162492411af744

Iím fairly new to Rainbow (I heard of it back in 1.8, and just thought of it recently), and Iím interested in making some plugins. I noticed that Rainbow supports Bungeecord, but I didnít see anything in the javadocs about interacting with bungeecord (plugin messages, like sending a player to another server). Did I miss it / would you be interested in adding it?

News and Info / Re: Thoughts on Minecraft 1.13

Anything but #1.

- Perhaps a combination of #2 and #3 so you can use either mechanism (or both)?  I'm not sure if that's possible, though cuz I don't know the internals of Minecraft or the Rainbow API.

- Or have two interfaces, and you choose one or the other, but that's prolly impractical cuz you'll essentially be supporting 2 versions of Rainbow, bleh.  And CodeCrafter already said that updating Rainbow is gonna be a Hurclean task.

- Or Some mechanism like what JD9999 suggested.

- Or do #3 and then write a Rainbow/Rainbow bridge...

- Okay, I guess I vote for #2, but assign our own block IDs to the new blocks (and all the variants of wool) so we can use the new blocks.
