Description: This plugin builds highways across your world.  It's really easy to use.  In the chat window, type:

    /HIGHWAY X=n Y=n Z=n DIRECTION=NORTH|SOUTH|EAST|WEST
            LENGTH=n PROTECT=ALL|ROAD|NONE

X is the starting location of your highway.  You can type a positive or negative integer or *.  If you type X=* it will use your current X location as the start of your highway.  X will be rounded to the nearest multiple of 6. For example, if you specify X=13, the plugin will assume you mean X=12.  This is so that when highways cross, they will intersect without oddly placed lamp posts and support pillars.

Y is the starting location of your highway.  You can type a positive or negative integer or *.  If you type Y=* it will use your current Y location as the start of your highway.  Note that Y specifies the location of the block you are standing on, not your Y location.

Z is the starting location of your highway.  You can type a positive or negative integer or *.  If you type Z=* it will use your current Z location as the start of your highway.  Z will be rounded to the nearest multiple of 6. For example, if you specify Z=8, the plugin will assume you mean Z=6.  This is so that when highways cross, they will intersect without oddly placed lamp posts and support pillars.

DIRECTION is the direction of your highway away from you.  You can type a positive integer or *.  If you type DIRECTION=* it will use the direction ou are facing your current X location as the direction of your highway as long as you are facing directly North, East, West, or South.

LENGTH is the length of your highway away from you.  You must type a positive integer.  LENGTH will be rounded to the nearest multiple of 6.  For example, if you specify LENGTH=16, the plugin will assume you mean LENGTH=18.  This is so that when highways cross, they will intersect without oddly placed lamp posts and support pillars.

PROTECT specifies the level of grief protection you want.  Grief protection is expensive!  If you are planning a highway on a small private server for a few friends to play on, specify PROTECT=NONE.  If you are planning smallish highway on a semi-public white-listed server and you want people to be able to connect private tunnels or roads to it, PROTECT=ROAD will probably be sufficient.  If you are planning a highway on a large open public server on a high-powered server box with a crapton of players, you'll probably need PROTECT=ALL.

If all the parameters are valid, the plugin will build a highway starting at X,Y,Z coords in the specified direction for a length of n blocks.  It will build the highway in the dimension you are currently in, be it the World, the Nether, the End, or a custom world.

The plugin slices time to build the highway, so you can continue playing while the highway is being built without freezing up the server.  It may take a long time to build a long rail line.

If your highway is above ground level, support pillars will be placed every 6 blocks under the road to create an elevated highway.  They will extend downward until they touch solid ground.   If the road is over water or lava, the support pillars will extend down into the water or lava  until they reach solid ground.  But if there is no solid ground, such as in The End, there will be no support pillar.

If your highway passes through a mountain, tunnel walls will be built around it.

WARNING!  The plugin doesn't detect houses, villages, other train tracks, temples, fortresses, strongholds, etc.  It  will build the highway through anything in the way.  Survey your route by eye before you build!

Trees are a problem!  The plugin will try to prune trees in a sensible manner along the roadway so that you don't see trees simply sliced in half or mangled along the way, or leaves floating in mid-air, but it isn't perfect.  So you will have to do some manual editing along the way.  Sorry...

Water is also a problem.  Sometimes a highway will intersect some water and the water will start flowing after the plugin removed the existing block but before it placed the road surface.  That may result in some water flowing onto the roadway.

Sometimes, the highway will disturb loose sand above.  Since sand falls in slow motion relative to game ticks, it will land on the highway after that section has been built, and so the plugin won't detect it.  So some clean-up may be necessary.  This usually occurs at tunnel entrances in deserts.

Also, while this may be obvious, building a highway on a busy server may cause your players to complain about "lag."

I just replaced the download with version 2.0.  It plays nicer with Subway, and prunes trees better that the prior version.
